I recently bought an external 60 gig hd but my laptop won't pick it up. My laptop always shows that new hardware has been connected in the bottom right hand corner but the hd does not show up when I open the "My Computer" folder. What is wrong?

I ordered it off ebay and it was suuposed to come with a drivers cd but it was not included. Is there somewhere that I can download some drivers for this hard drive?

Here's the Hard Drive:

That's the problem. I don't know. I was hoping that the link would take you to the page. Here it is again.

I had the same problem, how I got round it was to temporarily extract the disk from its case and fit it to my pc as a new 'C' drive and boot of a win98 start-up disk and partition and format it from there, and then put it back in it's case and all was well. Two words of caution this will invalidate any guarantee and remember to format it fat32, as this will allow it to be seen by any system.

What I forgot to add was that I have an adapter cable which was part of an IDE to USB Kit to be able to hang it on my system.
