i bought all this hi-tech gear for a gaming pc im making... and i am mounting a 17" dell monitor in the side of the case...

and well i wondered if it was possible to get 5" spacers or something i can mount it with... their are four places where it lines up fine but i need some spacers for it

any ideas where i could get it

I assume you've considered the ambient temperature issue? The PC will need to be very cool inside to avoid the monitor overheating in there.

wow, that's some serious modding. Could you use some giant washers or something? Other than that I have no clue...

Maybe go to your local hardware store and find some really small pvc pipe and cut out 5" sections of it for spacers. Something along those lines might work if you can find small enough.

yeh the heat inside would be painfully hot... luckily my case has a water cooling system for the graphics card and the mainboard. i have a 120mm fan inside and 2 12" blue cathodes....

i need some way of cooling the monitor as they get hot on their own

thanks for all your ideas i might post some pics when im done

Only one 120mm fan inside? You'll definitely need some extra cooling.

maybe i could order a permanent load of liquid nitrogen, probably not cheap but their is a cooling plant that uses liquid nitrogen which would be handy if i could have their waste and i know that it decreases by half every hour or so.... yeh, i would need a fair bit every so often

depending on the width of the case you may also have some balance issues with a monitor on one side.

You could possibly chop half the stand off, cut a hole in the case and put the half of the stand in there.

or you could use thoes really pricey wall monuts.

First off, Why would you want to do that? It can be done there is no doubt. Heating issue...If its an LCD it should be fine if you have water cooling and have atleast 2 120MM fans, one in the front and one in the back. It should run fine. If it still over heats, Try mounting some on the top. If still. Then you're SOL!

try thoes wall mount things they sell at futureshop and staples, you screw one end into the case and the other goes on the monitor. They are way overpriced but it should work

You're after a logic button of some kind, a local electronics store will have one for pennies.

Well, The best site for simple stuff like that is Cooler Guys If I remember correctly the do have power buttons on there and pretty cool ones at that. When I get my next case I'm use an actual car kill switch as my power button.
