Hello ppl,

Im new to afterdaw as a register user, but I have been using ur infos for a time now and thx to u all they are were very helpfull. But now Im having a problem i couldnt find any like this, some similar, but not the same. I had reinstalled my winxp and reinstalled Nero 5. b4 that multisection cds worked without a problem. Now everytime i try to burn a multisection cd comes the same error:
Nero Express: Error while reading. Possibility of corrupt disc.

This happened with every cd i try to burn (and yes i did use the same Nero 5 b4 to burn that same cd).

Plz any help would be more then welcome.

thx in advance.

since you reinstalled windows I think your drive is having problems and maybe windows didn't install your drive properly! if you did reinstall windows make sure you do all the windows updates for your computer! After updating windows and you still have a problem...... then I would uninstall the drive and reboot and see if windows correctly reinstalls your drive and then try again to burn the CD. Here's how to uninstall your drive:
right click on MY COMPUTER/PROPERTIES/HARDWARE/DEVICE MANAGER/ then navigate down to DVD/CD-ROM DRIVES/ and then right click your drive hit UNINSTALL. now reboot! Windows will reinstall your drive. then check to see if this fixes your problem.

If this doesn't then let's see a full Nero log and see what's what! Also I would go to Nero 6.6.0.18 which is the best Nero 6 version you can get. I don't know if your serial # will allow you to get the full blown version of Nero 6 since you are using Nero 5 which is wayyyyyyyy old. would love to see a Nero Log. But if you want to venture to Nero 6 here's how:

Before udating to 6.6.0.18 I would save the serial #, uninstall Nero, then use the cleaning tools : http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Clean_Tools.html
then do a registry clean up(free registry cleaner, CClean: http://www.ccleaner.com/download/downloadpage.aspx?1) and defrag...... then reboot!

install package one:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_burning_rom/?539

then install package two:
http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/Patch_for_NVE3.html
reboot and you're good to go!

good luck.

Hello again,

Thats what i did:
Got all the updates for winxp. Uninstall Nero, cleaned up the registries (reg cleaner, ccleaner and regscrub, just to be sure)and reboot. Check the drivers for the cd-dvd rom(btw, slimtype dvdrw sosw 852s *updated firmware to ps08) all seams fine. Reinstall Nero 5 (yeah, I know) reboot. Burned a new cd with multisection, all fine. Next try a burn in the same cd...and the same damn error. All done with Nero express. Then I try the normal way, with the Nero burning rom. It says i cant add any file to the cd because they are read only. And doenst let me add no other file to the cd. Am I doing something wrong with the configuration of Nero? If not then whats wrong? and btw, how do i get a Nero log? i would post it in no time...
Any suggestion?

here is where the Nero Logs are for 6 & 7, but don't know where the logs are for 5!

Nero 6 history log location: Program Files>Ahead>Nero>NeroHistory.txt

Nero 7 history log location: Program Files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>NeroHistory.tx
