Umm why don't you use your laptop only? Why do you need another pc? Anyway you can just use a vga cable to plug into the monitor I believe. I'm not too sure though.

Did you try just plugging in a VGA cable? I honestly don't know much about laptops so I don't really have to much to offer in the way of advice.

well i went out the other day and brought a male to male VGA cable to see if i could connect them both togther and use some of the hot keys on the laptop to display the pc on the monitor, but it wouldnt let it though i really am keen to do this as my pc is much faster and has a few program's on it that the laptop cant even hold let alone run.

As far as I know, the VGA port on a laptop is output, not input. Don't think you can use it the other way round.

wizkid005, what you want to do you can't do as no laptop can be used in the way you want just for the screen for another pc. get a lcd screen & a power inverter to power your lcd off the cigerette lighter.

Done yes, but used as a TV not a monitor, the picture would be pretty dire.
