what would give me the best picture quality dvd shrink, clonedvd or 1 click dvd copy pro? I have hered about transcoders that cause the dvd to pause of skip at a layer dreak. I think I noticed that with ripit4me wich used dvd shrink.

So I guess my question realy is wich one will skip the least and give me the best picture quality?

If you are backing up movies and having problems with skipping and picture quality then the first thing you need to do is make sure that you burners firmware is up to date. Then you need to make sure that you are burning at low speeds. Make sure that you are using good quality media to burn to. Do not burn to the outside edge of the media. I could go on and on.

It seems that you have the hang of the basic ripping process involved before you go to the burn process, but do you edit the files before you burn them? Are you burning to DL media or to a DVD-5? What is your burning engine? Have you thought about using DVD ReBuilder?

Make sure that you are also keeping your percentage ratio at 70% or higher. And above all make sure that you are burning at a slow speed. If you are burning DL media then I would suggest using ImgBurn.

Maybe this site will give you a little help in judging the comparisons in different transcoding tools. Everyone uses different things so it is a little difficult to say what is best. This particular site is a little outdated, but it still gives you a good idea. I guess the big question is, do you want free transcoding or to buy the software?

DVD ReBuilder is a great piece of software that does a wonderful job. There is a free version that is quite good to start with, but most people end up buying the Pro version. http://dvd-rb.dvd2go.org/index.php

There are additional links on the site that direct you to rippers as well. I use AnyDVD, DVD ReMake Pro, and Nero to burn. If you do not have Nero then ImgBurn is free and an excellent burning engine.

The free way to do what I do, just not quite as well as I do, is to use DVDFab Decrypter, VobBlanker, DVD Shrink, and then burn.

skipping problems usually have nothing to do with transcoders, skipping is usually due to fimware, fast burning and/or bad media. safe you money, fabdecryper/shrink/imgburn are free and excellent. plus shrink has a better picture quality than 1click. i don't bother with rebuilder because it takes too long to do the job, if you want a good picture quality, do shrink with AEC+deep analysis, maim movie only and kill all unwanted audios.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.
