Plays in stand-alone but not in DVD-ROM drive

I've searched around but have not found a similar problem on the forum.

I backed up Italian Job and Dreamscape with no problems (supposedly). Both play perfectly on my stand-alone dvd players - a Sony and a no-name brand. I can scan and play the menus and extra stuff.

But the disks will not play properly at all on the drive that created them. There were no error indications during the burn.

I used dvdshrink to decrypt and Nero 6 to burn to disk. Both instances. On Nero, I compiled using DVD-Video as opposed to DVD-ISO or DVD-ISO/UDF. Why? Because it looked like the most logical choice with my limited knowledge. I chose all the default settings in DVD-Video. Anyone know what's going on? My drive app is Power DVD, it came bundled with the drive. The drive is a week old.

I suppose what I'm looking for is to be able to play the burned disk on both DVD drive and stand alone player. Should I use the other compilation methods? Is DVD-ISO the better choice? Thanks for any assistance.

DVD ISO is always the better choice as you can test the backup before you burn it to DVD by using either Nero ImageDrive or Demon Tools.
If the backup is ok, you can then burn to a DVD.
