Browsing the internet using IE7 while leeching using BitComet/Bitlord.

I have problems browsing internet or intranet websites using IE7. I have no problems when using Firefox. I only use IE when I'm testing our company's webapp but since I installed and used bitcomet and later bitlor, it seems that Ie is not working anymore. It happens with other IE based browser as well (Maxthon greenbrowser etc)

I'm not really sure that BitComet/Lord is the only culprit here. I also have free download manager downloading some files. I really doubt that all the bandwidth is being consumed by these two apps (bit, and FDM) cuz like I said Firefox is working well. No slowdowns no nothing. The surfing speed is fast and the download speeds for BIT and FDM are also fast.

What could be the problem? It is not a virus or a DOS attack (i think) cuz only IE based browsers are affected and Firefox is what I mostly use.

FYI: Am using Kerio (sunbelt version), AVG (free), SpywareTerminator

I have very similar problem but with all browsers. Whenever there are active downloads in Bitcomet, my browsing starts to slow down and sometimes even shut down. Even accessing the router configuration page is extremely slow and simetimes just give me a no page found error.

I am using Bitcomet 0.85 and DD-WRT v23 for Linksys WRT54GS router. This problem happened with another firmware for my router too but I dont remember which 1 for sure.

That router is known to have problems with too many open connections:

The general suggestion is to limit open connections to below 200.

Also, you should make sure your upload speed in BitComet is capped at no more than 80% of your overall upload speed.

Either one of the above being set improperly can cause the slowdowns you are experiencing.
