I upgraded my DRU-500a (formerly an DW U10A) to 2.0g firmware. Forgot however to set it to PIO and also forgot to deactivate IN-CD (Ahead). Now it seems dead, no reading, no writing, just a burning LED after inserting any medium. Tried to flash back to 2.0f but issue stays the same. Who can help, or can I throw it away now?

Your drive might have been in safe mode.
If this is true you may be able to save it.

Please have a look at the forum at http://forum.rpc1.org/ where you can find the right firmware to get your drive out of safe mode.
