When I had my computer in for repair they put Nero on and added a Dvd burner.. Now for some reason When I try to burn from Windows Media Player it gives me a message with an arrow "connect a burner and restart".. Can someone please tell me what is wrong? I think I'm getting too old to try all this new stuff.. or something...
Thank you so much in advance..
OH YES.. is there any real benefit in having Nero on my computer over using Windows Media Player, and if using Nero to burn, what mode should I use to burn a DVD that will play in my DVD player???
Sorry so many questions.. it really is all greek to me.. And thank you again for any and all input..

hello . nero Is the best burning application ever developed . It is a lot better than windows media player and can do a lot more than the following . If I were to recommend a burning program to you I would definitely recommend Nero. I believe the reason that the people who repaired your DVD added Nero was because some dvd burners, come preinstalled for certain types of applications. this means that certain dvd burners will only work with certain types of programs. windows media player is usually good at burning audio CD's but when it comes to burning other types of media files there are usually issues . You should use Nero to burn your disks . it has it easy to use interface and is one of if not the best program for burning multimedia .

If you do however have questions don't hesitate to ask .

On a more friendly note i would like to add that you were never told old to learn something new

Hi,

Nero is the best burning application there is out there and with time you'll come to agree, once you've gotten the hang of it.

One of the obvious benefits of burning audio with Nero BurningRom is that you can remove the long pause between tracks.

You can check out Nero 7 user guides here or Nero 6 user guides here.

The IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service was disabled to speed up Nero, but you can safely switch it back on to 'manual' - so that you can easily choose between buring with Nero or Windows Media player.

Do the following :
Go to 'Control panel', double click 'administrative tools', double click 'services', double click 'IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service' and change 'startup type' from 'disabled' to 'manual'.
