Sometimes I see orange flowers go by while working with DVDs . Anyone know what they are. Maybe the trademark of a company or something?

IIRC what you're seeing are still images used to create menus that are there for placeholders. Often DVDs have the menus and main movie in one titleset and the extras in one or more other titlesets with no menus. Even though menus are optional, some authoring software will add menus for titlesets that don't have them. For example, the old Spruce software that was used for a lot of early DVDs puts a Spruce logo on these menus. I suspect this is due to some first generation players not handling all aspects of the DVD-Video specs well.

You won't ever see them during playback because they're never referenced by any command.
