Hi mike9907
Here's some suggestions.
Physical memory : 382MB
Free physical memory: 90MB
Memory in use : 76 %
Lot of memory in use. I add more memory if you can too. Close any unneeded programs to try and free some up.
Disc Manufacturer ID: CMC MAG,
Probably you're biggest problem - cmc made media - not the best by far.
Switch your media to Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim or made in Japan only Sony, Fuji or Maxell.
Burn process failed at 16x
Take your burn speed down to 8x. For these you might want to go to 6x or 4x.
File 'Drivers\CDRALW2K.SYS'
Roxio and Nero don't always play well so if after doing the above and still failing uninstall Roxio and run the zap tool

i've tried a few different types of media, all discs i've had success with in the past. doesn't seem to be the cause. do you know what programs might be from roxio? i tried the zapper and i tried looking through all my stuff, but i have no idea which ones might be roxio. thanks for the help

Roxio's software is probably "Easy CD/DVD Creator".

ok, fixed the problem. downloaded and ran spybot (free) and had mcafee do a registry clean up. worked like a charm.
