BenQ DVD Burner

I bought a BenQ DVD burner. I bought some off brand DVD's to record on and they did not work. A computer tech guy told that some blank DVD's do not work. I have the program DVD Fab. Some of the burners are very picky. I bought some DVD-R. Can anyone recommend any brands I could use.


Also, what are the differences between DVD-R and DVD+R? Thank you. I am an FNG to the DVD burner
