Hello fellow AfterDawn members!

i know this might sound dumb, but i have searched the threads and couldnt find any answers

I need help with my azureus. I am downloading everything fine, but it just goes soooo slow that something has to be wrong. The blue bars that indicate the speed of the download fluctuate every now and then. One minute the bars will be at 3 then 5 mins later they will be empty. The esimated time of download changes frequently too, sometimes saying 2 hours then later it will say as long as 9 days then back again. Sometimes it even goes as far as to say the Infinity sign(horizontal 8). The file isnt that big, its just one album and its 71.62 mb. The health was green for the torrent.

I have a laptop and im running off a wireless network at my house. Im not sure if it has to do with firewalls or not.

ANY help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou in advance!

Also, i checked the download speed and it goes up and down very fast every second it changes. ranging from 0 b/s to the 100b/s range. It never stays the same.

If things are going fine and then you have problems, it is prob not firewall issue. Did you make an exception in the firewall for Azureus?

What is your OS? (Vista, XP, Mac etc)

What is the make and model of your router?
Almost all routers are going to have trouble with the number of connections that Azureus (or any P2P) uses and get clogged up if too many connections are open. See, Bad Routers.
Did you portforward?

Have you run a speed test, capped your max upload and adjusted your connection settings as set out at Good Settings.

You can check whether it is your Azureus or the torrent itself that is bad by adding "Swarm Average Speed" to your columns. Right-click in an empty area of the downloads section of the My Torrents page. Select "column setup" and tick "Swarm Average Speed". Press "Apply" and OK.

Do you have UPnP enabled?
