My HDD recently crashed (At least I thought it did) so I went and bought a new one. I needed a new one for more room so it wasn't a big deal.
Anyways, I put the new HD (PATA) as my master and the old one on slave. Installed Win XP Home then noticed that my files, MP3, videos etc from my old drive seem to be working fine. It's that some of the programs don't work. e.g: iTunes, Quicktime,
I tried to switch the drives and put the old one on master and new one on slave and to no surprise I couldn't get to Win XP load screen.
My question is that can I delete the Win XP from my old drive without corrupting or deleting my files?
I have Win XP and my files in two seperate partions so I was wondering if this would be OK.
Also, some of the programs from my old drive aren't on my start-up menu but they still seem to work. Is there a way I can get them up there?
Or should I just clone the old drive to make life easier? Haha
some programs like itunes have to be installed again, the leave little files in system folders, so you just need to reinstall it, then point it at your music.
