I decided to try out the nesDS homebrew emulator with my G6 Real (not G6 Lite) and everytime I booted it up directly from the main menu all I got was two black screens. I eventually found out that by loading it up via the "MyCard" option that it worked, but only to the point of freezing at the first directory display, and I can't do anything else.

I tried out the nesDS emulator on my older Slot 1 card which I no longer use (I gave it to a friend, it's an R4) and it works perfectly there. Any suggestions on how to get this to work on the G6 Real? :(

I've gotten this thing to work with the G6 Real, SORT OF.

I had the same problem as you the first time I used it, where it would freeze at the ROM selection screen.

After a while, I discovered that if you litterally BLAZE through the selection screen (you gotta know exactly which rom you want to play and just immediately hold the down button until it's highlighted and then hit A) and don't let the software sit in idle at all during the ROM selection, it will not freeze.

It's kind of stupid, but it works. The other issue though is that I cannot get the save states function to on it. So a game like Zelda is mostly pointless if you can't save it.

Well it's just gotten worse for me.

I tried updating my G6 Real's System folder to 2.2 (I had 2.0) and it seems I am unable to boot nesDS at all, it just leaves hanging at a "Loading" screen after choosing to load it up either way. Thankfully I backed up my 2.0 System folder just incase something like this would happen, so I can revert if I needed to.

Does anyone know where I can find the 2.1 System folder data? It's not available to download on the official website anymore.

This is all very odd. Have you guys DLDI patched it?

Yes I patched it, I know I have because I tried loading it without the patch too, and it told me to patch it. Loading the patched version shows the first directory listing and just freezes there.

I used the "DLDI G6 DS v0.19" Patch and tried patching the file with two seperate pieces of patching software, both methods brought me the same outcome.

It seems I got it to work properly now, thanks to a tutorial I found through Google searching. For those interested, check the link below:

It doesn't freeze up, and savestate saving/loading works :)

While we're on the subject of getting homebrew working on G6 Real, does anyone know how to get SnezziDS to work? It doesn't use DLDI, and again I get a frozen "Loading" screen when attempting to boot it up
