I doubt readyboost can be put on xp but there is something else you could do.

Use a Virtual Hard Drive to speed up xp, which takes a portion of your RAM and creates a RAM disk, which functions like a hard drive with dramatically reduced read and write times. I guess the amount of data that you would put on it, would be very limited as it depends how much you have installed.

Heres some software for it- http://www.farstone.com/software/virtual-hard-drive.htm

Surely that's the opposite of readyboost?

With readyboost you're taking long-term storage and making it as RAM, with that you're taking RAM and making it long term storage.

You're correct in that Readyboost only works for Vista, but not all USB sticks work either, only the fast ones like the smaller Flash Voyager series.
The simplest way of getting extra RAM is to do just that, buy some more.

Yeah does look it. Its similar in the way i-ram is made for which saves data & speeds up the data access rate. I wouldnt mind getting one of those to stick in my pc.

I-RAM does look pretty sweet, although I do have concerns over the battery in there, I'd want there to be regulated backups.

Yeah, i would say its a reasonable time as i rarely would remove the card and let the pci keep it charged. also i never get power cuts but there may come a time all of a sudden and be glad im safe for just over half a day.

Hmm, as a LAN Party-goer, it'd be a tad more necessary than for others!
