I have burned one large file (larger than 4GB) on ISODVD-R using Nero 6.0.0.0. Nero did not warn me about anything, and said that the disc was burnt sucessufully. But in windows explorer, the file size is about 400MB. After some googling, I found out that ISO doesn't support files larger than 4GB, and that I was supposed to use UDF. Is this correct?
Is there any way that the file on my DVD can be recovered?
I dont think that nero has anything to do with it. You should check the formating mode of your harddrive. If it is formatted FAT or FAT 32, you should try formating it to NTFS. FAT and FAT32 only support files that are not larger that 4 gigabytes. NTFS however, are presumably able to hold files up to 16 GB big.
I think you misunderstood my problem, which is not in the filesystem of my hard drive.
I'm talking about burning a file larger than 4GB onto one DVD. If you try to do that while selecting ISO DVD format, you'll mess thing up (as I have done), since ISO9660 does not support such large files. After burning the DVD, the size of the file on the DVD is not >4GB as it should be, but instead about 400MB, and it cannot be read correctly.
I was a bit upset about why doesn't this version of Nero at least warn people when they select wrong disc format, but instead do the burning like everything is ok...
Now, since I already have done a mess, I was hoping that there maybe is some method for recovering this file from DVD.

What type of file were you using as a source to output to DVD?
I was not aware that Nero could create .iso files (although it can create .nrg files).
As to the size of the file, I have an .ISO created when a DVD was ripped, whose size is variously reported by XP as:
4.19GB (4,509,474,816 bytes) and 4,403,748 bytes, these figures reported by Windows Explorer, and it's a perfectly good, usable, image..
I'm using Nero burning Rom. The ISO I was referring to is DVD filesystem (ISO9660 to be more precise), which is default filesystem for burning a new DVD in Nero Burning Rom. I cannot believe nobody knows what I'm talking about. Here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_9660

No, you still do not understand my problem. Let's start from the beginning.
Let's say I have a file called "myFile.ext". This is just some some normal file that I want to burn on DVD. The file size of "myFile.ext" is 4.5GB. This file is just a bit smaller than DVD's capacity.
I open Nero Burning Rom, select "new compilation", drag this file into Nero and start burning. The Nero burns the DVD successfully (at least it says so).
I open this newly created DVD in windows explorer and there the file size of "myFile.ext" is 400MB, instead of 4.5GB.
This happened because invalid filesystem for burning the DVD was used (ISO instead of UDF). So now I'm looking for a way to recover "myFile.ext" - copy it back to hard drive in its original form (although, I'm not sure that this is possible).
