Unlocking Nokia 6030 rm-225

Ok, I've heard it over and over that the rm-225 cannot be unlocked unless you go through the carrier. But I found a thread here that made it seem like it worked. Anyways, if there is anyway to unlock my phone:

Make/Model: Nokia 6030b
IMEI: 011122002914579
country: USA
Provider: at&t

I have seen services on ebay that claim they can unlock it? is there any truth to this? if there is a cheap place to unlock this phone, please direct me in the right direction.
