Any of you guys experienced/overcome this error - I think its media, but am hoping somebody will tell me otherwise!

I just got 100 DVD-R's for 66p each (Bulkpaq) and the first two I have used have worked great, then the next two have given me this message.

Hi there same problem as you , you didnt let us know the make of your drive you have ibstalled as it makes a difference I've got a panasonic lfb311 and i get it regular with media ( bulk-paq is one ) I have also tried data safe as well with different results but data safe have just launched a 3rd genaration disc that is "supposed" to work in any drive but i have heard this b4. the ones that i use are unbranded and i have about 95% success rate with power calibration area error (£60 for 100 spindle ) the other 5% i give to someone else who use them with their drive with success. What u need to do is experiment with 10 discs first b4 you buy a spindle of 100 , by the way keep going down the spindle and you will get some more that will work.

Cheers - I have the Vivistar DVD-R which is basically a rebadged Panasonic.

I have just found that Imation DVD-R's work fine - but on playback I have noticed the picture to be very blocky in parts :(

Cheers - I just ordered a Pioneer DVR-104 so I will see if the media I had problems with works on that without Calibration Error etc.

looks like you might of wasted you money on this one ( see other thread ) as I have just started burning on those new media-safe discs and they seem to be working well ( very well ) I got them from manhattan computers in Romford , London they were £10 for 10 ( trial pack ) , spindles are less, and I think they will sell loads of these ( cheap plug I know )
