Multi language DVDs problem

I have bought some DVDs with French and English audio, for example The Queen and Amadeus.
I can play both languages on the Amadeus DVD but can find only the french language on The Queen DVD when using my DVD player and TV. However both languages appear when I play the DVDs on my PC with no problem. I have other discs that again play both languages on the PC but only french on the home system

I would be grateful if anyone can throw light on this, please.
