Im trying to get the media code of a DVD but im getting the following, the DVD im trying to get the code for is LEXUS DVD MAP NAVIGATION CD i was unsuccessfull in making a burn it never loads so i think i need the code but this is my first post and first time i try this software so can someone put me on the correct track please ??
How do i proceed in copying this type of DVD's ? please set me on the correct track i tried making a copy of it using
-Nero
-Alcohol
I tried copying the CD using nero an hour ago "Copy CD" option but no luck i get an error message when i load the copied cd in the car ; error message i get is :
Unable to read data.
Check if map DVD is correct.
Actually i did 2 things
1st: DVD+R and used the COPY DVD option
2nd: I created an ISO since the CD size is only 332 MB and tried burning image on a CD-R.
Either of them worked.... Whats so special about this data CD and how can i make a working copy please .. ?
Files are there but dont seem to work in the car, So i need a DL DVD or where exactly do i start please help
This is the CD i was trying to read so do you think its a DVD-5 or DVD-9 and how do i know which one is it ?
BTW the file size of the DVD is 332 MB so can you explain step by step why exactly do i need double layer DVD and which one is it 5 or 9 waiting for your response.

here are 2 images
1st is the (original dvd im trying to copy )
2nd image is after i copied
I also followed the DVD Decrypter on how to set book-type
My dvd writer is:
HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H55
i aslo tried doing it in nero but still no luck i did the following as well
01) opened up Nero StartSmart, then click on Nero Burning Rom
02) EXIT out the "New Compilation" when it pops up
03) clicked on "Chooses A Recorder"
04) clicked on "Options", then on "Book Type Settings", set to "Automatic" and clicked "OK"
is it the media im using?? this is the media im using
is that the reason why it says media type:DVD+R and not DVD-ROM

Thanx for your help, i downloaded the software and used "copy" option it burned successfully and showed the files but it did not work in the car :-( can anyone help me further in this please ?

your dvd player in your car might not like the type of dvd that you burnt, go to dvdhelp.com and put in the model number of your dvd player in your car, and that will tell you what format your player will play or what it won't

Thanks man gr8 post i will try to figure out the Model # at first and then i witry searching. BTW i entered the site do i enter the model number in that box after i get it and it will give me full details ?

I am still waiting for an email regarding the DVD Map Navigation Model # so far
I Created an Image using Alcohol and burned used
DVD decrypter at 8X for both:
My DVD + R that i tried is FTI:

Its just that i cant find quality DVD + R where i live ill try Sony DVD+ R if thats the case.

Maybe there may be other forms of copy protection on this DVD that I know nothing about.Maybe thats the case also. Can anyone guide me through the steps of copy preotection please ?

An hour ago i was with Service Receiption Manager @ lexus and i asked him for the DVD Map Navigation player Model #. He told me we dont actually know it so i suggested he email the inquiry to japan.
He said:they will ask why do you want to know the model #. I also asked him what if it gets corrupted dont you have to know the model # to order it? He said: we order it using the parts # we dont have any idea about the model # it might me maybe pioneer maybe board navigation, but if your so desperate to know what the model is we have to remove it from your car and check.Quite a hassle there. Any help besides getting to know the model # of the DVD navigation player ?

Finally i purchased those DVD's so now can someone provide me for with a tutorial for my case ? The reason im asking is becoz ive seen to many tutorlas
-Alcohol 120
-Img burn
-DVD Decrypter
-Nero
- And a lot more With different Writing speeds
so can someone put me on the correct track i dfont want to start coasters again.

I made an img using Alcohol and burned using DVD Decrypter.
What is PTP btw. ive read somewhere there are two types PTP is one and im not sure what the other is.. to increase the capacity for double layer DVD-9 not in my case i think. But correct me if im wrong :-)

I count 5 differences when comparing the burn DVD with the original ..

I Zipped my DVD MAP NAVIGATION and uploaded it.
Can be downloaded from this link using a download manager such as flashget, Internet download manager, etc:

After extracting
-(MDS & MDF) 349MB Created using Alcohol 120%, Image Making Wizard.
Anyone that owns an LS 460 and would try a Successful burn attempt please tell me the following:
1- What model of DVD player you are using ?? Ex:BENQ model # ?
2-What High quality DVD's are you using ? Verbatim, sony, etc .. ?
3-Whats the burning software that u are using and what version ? DvD decrypter, Nero, Img Burn, etc .. ?
4-What writing speed do you use?? 2.4x 4x 8x etc..?
