I bought a copy of "Perfect stranger" from my local Best Buy, and I want to make a back up copy of it for my own personal use. I used DVDfab---which so far has worked wonderfully---but it seems to be having problems with this disk. Any suggestions as to possible reasons?

means? is DVDFab (and which program do you have? HD Decrypter of Platinum?) having a problem reading your DVD or burning to your media? Perfect Stranger was no problem to copy! If you can explain exactly what problem you are going through then maybe members here can help you out!

I have DVDfab Platinum and attempted to burn Perfect stranger on my Gateway computer. I have the latest version (it just updated yesterday) and I used the full disc method and burned onto a dvd+R DL disc.(Sony)
I put Perfect stranger in and it recorder the movie to my computer. The I got the message saying "No media in DVD" and I ejected Perfect stranger and put in a blank DVD DL disc. It attempted to write the movie to the disc, but I soon got an error "Can't record
this disc". I ejected the disc and got the message "No media in DVD" again, so I inserted another blank disc and this one apparently recorded all the way through. I got the message "Process completed" and ejected the disc, then attempted to play it on my Sony DVD player---which plays everything else i've recorded fine...and it gave me the message "can not play this disc."
I'm not sure if its because its a new movie or not,but its definitely posing problems in copying it.

it sounds like you didn't set the quality setting to DVD9 which is for DL disks. But also use the best DL disk out there which is Verbatim! Verbatim has the best compatibility with more DVD burners and players than other DL disks and for this reason I call them lower quality media! If you set your settings to DVD5 and inserted a DL disk then you would have the problem as you discribed, "Can't record this disc". Perfect Stranger is no problem for DVDFab Platinum as I am doing that disk right now without a hitch! DVDFab Plat has accepted the Movie disk and is now burning to my blank disk without a prob. Maybe your settings were incorrect as stated above.... try again. good luck.

I must have not clicked the dual layer selection. I did it again and it worked fine. I'm pretty sure I did it the first time as well, but its possible I didn't click the D9 thing.

Oh well second time was the charm. Thanks for the help.
