I am having trouble installing Nero 6 on my WIn XP machine. It stalls at "Nerocd2kchecktool"

The file Nerocheck fail.tx contains:-

Could not open key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Application\NeroCheck.

Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

In Regedit this key is blank.

I have also used the "General-CleanTool.exe" and then run Add/Remove programs. No sign of any Nero applications. However a search of file/folders using Nero shows well over a 100 entries!!

There are txt, cpl. exe, pdf, chm, cab etc. files in all sorts of places

Should I just delete every Nero file/folder?

Any advice is welcomed.
