Help with Pokemon Pearl and using POKESAV

Ok so i got the save on my computer using the m3 game manager and it is a .dat, fine. I open pokesav, i edit one of my pokemons moves, select save as and write a different name, open up m3 click on the game i have on my mini sd card, right click open saver manager. Then I click once on the original save.dat that is listed in the menu of the saver manager, then i choose write .sav. Pick my new save that has been edited and click on. It then pops up a message saying ok. I then put the minisd card back into my ds start it up, start up pokemon pearl select my save game. My pokemons stats and move list or move pool remain unchanged. I can not figure out what i am doing wrong and everywhere i look online wont tell me, so can someone please help me.

if you are playing pkm pearl on a m3 you don't have to change the sav.

go to pokesav and click open.now another box comes up on screen look for your mem card then find you pearl save.
now when i try to change my pokemon it never works if my pokemon are in my party i have to put them in to storage.so put the pokmon you want to change into storage box 1,2,3, or whatever box you want.once your done changing the stats click on save.it should work.
