Sony DVD-R 16x Wont burn on Samsung DVD- Burner

I have tried some Sony 16x DVD-R discs with my samsung dvd burner but i tried burning something on nero and all it says is some error and dosent burn i tried 3 discs it gets the error and ejects but the disc has no data on it by looking at the bottom but cant be read again i have tried burning at 4x,8x,12x and same thing here is the log:

Why wont they work i mean Princo,Ritek worked perfectly but a better brand dosent help they werent cheap so im angry because of that.

It looks as thought the Sony media are not recognized by your drive and may remain unrecognized until Samsung issues a firmware update that includes the Sony M-code. Sony is only a "better brand" in that it is a more recognized brand. (Princo has been in trouble in the past for failing to pay royalties, but Ritek is a very good and respected manufacturer of optical discs.) Even the best brand or a "perfect" disc can fail on a "perfect" drive if that drive does not apply a suitable write strategy to the disc during recording. That is an incompatibility issue, not a matter of quality for either the medium or the drive.
You can stick with Ritek media or try Verbatim instead of Sony. You already know Ritek media work, and Verbatim has one of the most compatible M-codes in the industry. I doubt there is anything wrong with the Sony discs; they simply don't work with your drive.

Well I did burn a Movie in nero just then on the sony disc at 2x and it worked ! but the speed is a bit dissapointing but anyway why is it that I could burn the ritek's up to its full speed (8x) Princo was 4x but ussually never went 100% so i just slowed down to 2x but why is it these discs work at 2x but not at 4x 6x 8x 12x in my burner eventhough ive seen it burn 100% at 8x

Recording at faster speeds requires more precision. The curves showing lower jitter and better pit formation are sharper with faster speeds, and getting to the precise optimum point for lowest jitter and accurate pits requires some fine tuning. At slower speeds those curves widen quite a bit, and less precise tuning will still allow a decent recording. Your drive will produce better recordings at slow speeds because the default settings at slow speeds are good enough for decent recordings. Faster speeds will produce less acceptable or even failed recordings.
The Ritek media appear to fit the faster 8X settings. The Princo discs do not fit as well, and the Sony fit worst of all three. Slower speeds may get the Princo to work most of the time, but the same is not true for the Sonys. You may get different results if Samsung offers a firmware update that adds support for Sony media. I doubt that Samsung would support Princo discs since Samsung firmware support is sporadic.

Well ive crossflashed my TS-H552B to a TS-H552U because i have been told "U" has better -R support and faster dual layer burning i will post back in the morning.
