Hello! I recently went to backup a movie that I own in case the original gets scratched or damaged and when I went to burn with CopyToDVD, I started getting errors and started making coasters. I tried changing media (I tried playo, memorex, sony). I got CopyToDVD with 1 Click DVD Copy 5 as a bonus, I uninstalled it and installed the stand alone version (I am still in the trial period). Still no change, every second or third time I try, a new coaster. I tried burning with DVD Shrink and haven't had a problem with that, other than it takes 43 minutes to burn a copy whereas CopyToDVD took less than 10 minutes. I am including the event log. Any help or assistance would be appreciated. If I can't fix CopyToDVD, I am thinking of trying other products, like ashampoo burning suite. What would You advise? Thanks for Your time!

Hi dclayton
Looks like your problem isn't program related but more pc related.
I'm not the best at CopyToDVD logs but a few things pop out.
Drive Timing: PIO Mode
Check and make sure all your drives are in DMA mode. From this entry in the log looks like the drive is in the slooow PIO mode. Here's a guide - link

Writing speed requested x16.0, effective x16.0
Take the burn speed down to 8x.

Writing device used : 3:0:0 - LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-160P6S PS08
Update the drives firmware - the latest is PSOB.

If you are looking to buy a program to handle and burn copy protected dvd's I would highly recommend AnyDVD and CloneDVD. Very easy to use and updated often to handle the newer stuff. No yearly fees like 1Click.
