Hi,
I just swapped over from a Liteon burner to the Pioneer 106D. Since the pioneer can not read through copy protection like Liteon can, I have to use DVD Decrypter. My question is: how can I only decrypt the actual movie as I dont want to decrypt like 8gb of disc and then only burn the actual movie. Are there any guides I can look up? Ive looked up many places and none have explained how exactly I can do this. Please help!!!

I do use DVD Shrink but since my pioneer cant read trough copyright/decryption it means that I have to use another program (ie DVD Decrypter) in order to be able to use DVD Shrink.

actually, all you have to do is play the dvd for a couple minutes. Then DVD Shrink will work just fine.

AnyDVD and CloneDVD work excellently with the Pioneer 106! With these programs, you don't have to rip to your HD as AnyDVD decrypts on-the-fly making it useful with any software program.
Worth a try as they both have trial periods.

So would I need to use AnyDVD to rip it and then CloneDVD to burn it...im confused. I dont have an extra dvd-rom so i cant copy from dvd to dvd...if thats what you mean by on the fly...ie I read with the burner and then write with the burner. So how would I go about this and is it quicker than using shrink and Nero? Thanx!

With DVD Decrypter, select IFO mode and in the settings make sure it's set to movie only. It'll only rip the movie. Then you can use sumthin like DVD Shrink or DVD2One to process/shrink the movie down to DVDr size for burning. This is the process I use most and it works perfectly.

Yep, its alot quicker and no you don't need to have an extra DVD Rom drive in order to use the software!
AnyDVD decrypts the DVD in whaterver drive the DVD disc is incerted in.
CloneDVD compresses the DVD and then writes to a blank DVD. If you are useing one drive like in your case, you will have to remove the DVD, then incert a blank DVD ready for writing.
Easy as 1,2,3! + got a guide at simpleguides (link below)

I need to retract what I sed in that other post about compressing with DVD Shrink after ripping with DVD Decrypter. I can't get it to work like that. When it asks for the ifo file...I direct it to the file on my hard drive....and it sez it can't find it. Odd eh?

But shrink rips DVDs anyway yuedana! You don't need to use DVD Decrypter before.

The above is true. You dont need decrypter and then Shrink...Shrink decrypts while authoring or whatever. So u only need shrink and a burning program. BTW koola I still havent tried ANYDVD cos I have exams for uni now :(

Again, im being lazy and not reading replies, but try to upgrade your firmware with an RPC 1 version as the original is region and rip speed locked.

This will not decrypt the DVD Oriphus as TomiP wants. AnyDVD will do the job nicely and remove Region code etc.

True...however....DVD Shrink takes twice or three times as long to do what DVD Decryptor and a compresser does.
