I got a VCR/DVD recorder and a DVD play hooked up to the DVD-R but it will not copy some of the copyrighted DVD that I want to backup. Anyway, I ran the DVD Player to the TiVo and then Tivo to the DVD-Recorder and it worked! I can copy those copyrigthed DVD! Did not know if this was well known so I thought I would post it.

I've heard of it and know of a couple of people who do it that way. I think the quality may suffer a bit but it works!

How do you know if the movie will fit on the DVD? Always use DVD-9?
That is a good work around if you dont have a working computer to make life easier.

I understand. Just using the rough estimate like a CD is supposed to hold about 70 minutes of music.
