Major problem, computer wont even load, help

Computer was working fine, then starts to freeze up, try to restart it and wont even load up at all. Wont even load to bios screen. Tried to restart several times with no luck. After i turn it on, it starts to make a beeping sound inside the computer. What is the problem. Never had no trouble in the past with it.

well i would try too reboot several times, sometimes it would beep slow and other times it beep fast. More slow than fast though.

Gonna need the exact(or as close as you can). Something like this would help: 1 long beep and 2 short beeps. On my motherboard that means the video adapter is having an error. If you can try to post what kind of motherboard you have as well.

The BIOS for that board is Award. Repeated beeps comes up with memory error, so perhaps some of your RAM has gone bad. Do you have just one memory stick, or a few?

I cant find anything on one long beep(one short beep means everything is fine), so I'm guessing you mean continous beeps which, like sam said, is a memory error. Try booting up your PC with only one memory stick, try out all your mem sticks one at a time and in different slots to rule out bad memory or bad memory sockets.

I take it you have more than one stick then. if one's faulty, you can replace just that one, but it would be better to replace the pair.

Yes i do have 2, 256 sticks, i tried all the scenarios of taking them and puting them one slot or the other. Still had the 2 long beeps, any suggestions.

Also, both fans are working, and i believe the fan on the processor is running, any chance it might be the motherboard.

Ok, this just recently happened to me and I fixed it by "Rebuilding my system"
I first removed all the parts from the computer except the hard drives and CD/DVD drives.
Then I put the motherboard on a piece of cardboard, hooked up the powersupply, the video card and RAM.
Then I plugged in the monitor cable
Then I plugged in the power switch from the case to the motherboard.
I turned on the monitor, plugged in the powersupply and turned on the computer, it should work.
If this does work, then the problem was due to static electricity
Avoid putting the computer parts on carpet and touch a metal part of the case before you touch any computer parts to ground yourself
