Go here and test your internet speed when you are close to the router and when you are far away from the router, I don't think that you will see much of a difference.

I sent you the website so you can test if your Windows Network Connection strength indicator is right or not.

Good morning, I am looking at purchasing a D-Link DIR 655 Wireless Router. Anyone have any feedback about this router. I am new to the wireless world and want to make sure I get a good router. Our house is about 3100 square feet including a basement. I have an office upstairs, but occassionally use my laptop in the basement when I am doing ebay. Let me know what you think.

Have a wonderful day........

you won't need a wireless N router, I have a wireless G with speedboost and it works fine everywhere in my house, i think N is more speed then range, its ment for video streaming and multemedia.

I agree i was looking at a dlink n router and the range was only 100m while my belkin g router has up to 300m range. N routers are mainly for video streaming and aren't that much faster if you get a g+ mimo router.

if u have a lot of money to play with and you have a fast internet connection and you want to stream videos then get the d-link. However it only has up to 75metres range http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/p...00&category_oid

it's not your fault, it's Afterdawn's pages that's at fault for allowing posts to turn the place into widescreen :)

i just chopped the '[url=' from start and '=]' or whatever it was, from the end..
