Age old question. I had a raid 0, and one of the 120gb failed. Figured out which was the good one, and got 2 WD 160 gb. Now gonna do a raid 1 with the 2 WD. Use the spare 120gb for storage. I used to have this....
c=xp.......d=vista ( I dual boot)
e= personal stuff
d= programs
f= junk (swap file, temp int files)
x= games
I'm thinking this
c= xp 25gb
d= vista 85 gb
e=games
120gb hitachi for storage (swap file there), documents..etc
any thoughts....should games be in a separate partition?
I use Acronis True Image 10.
garlic and olive oil.....makes a person sound...maybe a little mayo too...forget the mayo...had a stint put in.....
EVGA 680i....Intel E6600......2 hitachi 120GB sata...striped nvidia raid 0..2 GB Corsair DDR2 1066...NZXT Lexa case....EVGA 8800GTX ...NEC 3550 dvdrw, Toshiba dvd rombof DEll 2405fpw
So would I, but let's actually help this person, rather than tell t hem off for wanting to use vista.
This is surreal bklyn120, I used to have a RAID0 setup with two WD drives, and I had an X partition for my games! spooky...
Guess what I set it up with? Acronis!
Oh, and look what case I use. I also used to own a Dell 2407FPW, this is freaking me out!
My drives were 250GB Caviar SEs though.
As for the storage, how about
RAID0:
Vista: 50GB
Games: 248GB (I expect your two 120GBs when formatted will sum a total of 298GB rather than 320)
