Fading in and out letterbox lines

I got fading in and out of letterbox lines on some films was wondering if anyone knows how to stop it, or prevent them from fading

does anyone know a good video editing program for the pc ?

You could just crop the movie so they aren't shown at all? (You mean letterbox lines such as the black section on either side of the movie, be it left/right or top/bottom, no?)

If these are DVD Discs then just adjust the aspect ratio of your TV to fit the DVDs aspect ratio, usually 4:3 or 16:9 if widescreen.

If not, what format are you files on your PC?
