updating firmware v1.1
and where do you download it.
Can you explain how to do an upgrade the fireware

It's the M3 firmware! M3 1.07 = R4 1.11, I thought that might work. :)

hey guys, i stumbled across this site in search of an answer for the problem
particularly mysims doesn't work
i have an M3DS simply, and i tried downloading the R4 firmware that was posted and replacing it. However it says hardware not compatible.
could someone direct me to a firmware or a solution to making mysims work?

It doesn't work because I patched the M3 Firmware I posted to work on a Chinese R4, you can get the new M3 Firmware Here.

Download the English Firmware 1.11, open the file in winrar, open the folder and extract the files to your MicroSD card.

ohhh you mean that you can't open the .rar file?? lol, a .rar file is like a .zip file uhh download something that can open in it like winRAR or something just google it =)

I have a new question...
I used the patched R4 v1.11 - english language for chinese R4 courtesy of Nintenut.
I have been told that this doesn't work on the original DS....
Is this because of the patch? Cos the R4 website says that it should work....
If it is the patch, I assume that the latest firmware from the website will work on the original DS?

By orginal ds you mean the first one?~ uhh well the normal v1.11 (english) update works on it, because i tried it on my friend's DS. and yeh it works the same as on DS lite. Have you tried to do the firmware update on your one? (if you wana be safe then just make a copy of whatever firmware you have right now on the R4)

The only things it shouldn't work on are an English R4 or an M3 Simply.

haven't tried it with the official firmware update, only tried it with the M3 patched version, so will try the R4 one soon...

I personally have ran into this problem, but have the m3 perfect... anyhow I found the arm7 fix is what I needed to do to fix it..
I dont have an url atm, but I postedthe link in the thread titled zelda where someone was having this problem. Its worked for me on several of the newer games thus far.

Hi Ninenut
You may want to try to update yr Chinese R4 to English. Mine is a Chinese R4 but I downloaded and update the R4 with the latest Eng v1.14 followed by a patch from this link http://ehsia.com/nintendo-ds/howto/r4-chinese-english. It works for me.
