So ive just recieved all of the new componets to build my new pc. I assembled it and then I went to try to install windows xp and about half way through the installation i got a blue screen with the following error codes:

0xc0000008e (0xc0000005, 0x8054afd2, 0xf7a6b7cc, 0x00000000)

the only thing i can think of is that the ram is faulty. If anybody could shine some light on this proble i would greatly apprecieate it!!!

Hi, do you remember what the message said........Page in a non page area? Try it again and write down the error and code.

If you think your ram is faulty try Memtest86+. Usually if your ram is bad you will get beep codes when your PC starts up. Try using this this mem test to check anyway.

First off i would like to thank both of you for your help!! I tried installing windows again and got a PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA error message w/ The following error codes:

0x00000050 (0xFFFFFF00, 0x00000008, 0xFFFFFF00, 0x000000000)
Then I found this on another forum:
http://forums.techguy.org/windows-nt-200...lue-screen.html
Post #6 almost describes my situation, and also has ram as the cause.

I also ran memtest86 and got like 46000 errors then the test froze after like 5 hours. So i think that pretty much sums it up. Any additional input is greatly apprecieated!!!
