I have a custom amd gaming computer. I know the monitor works because i am using it right now. My gaming computer turns on but doesnt relay it to the monitor. Just wondering if any of you guys can give me some advise. I spent 400 on it, so if its going to cost a lot to fix it i will probably just get a new one. But this computer is the best computer i have played on, so if i can save it i would like to.

You spent 400 on a gaming computer?? jeez id like to know what you have in that. my hard drives alone cost 500. but anyway. if the screen is black and the computer "turns on" which im assuming all its doing is the fans are spinning and cd drives blink or whatever. but if thats the case then your power supply may not be powerful enough or it has gone bad. try testing your computer with a different power supply. if it doesnt change anything try testing the video card and if that doesnt do anything then it may be a bad cpu or mobo.

he doesn't say what 400, £400 for example is a lot more than $400.
The problem you've got is that the PC isn't POSTing whichmeans there's some kind of hardware fault. Unplug and plug back in all the cables inside, and do the same for the sticks of memory and the cards (graphics card, sound card etc). Once you've done that, if still no luck, try a different power supply.

My old computer used to do that. It was a setting in the BIOS called 'init display first'.. by default it was set to PCI but I had a PCIe graphics card so my screen would not work. Try resetting the CMOS by using the jumpers, turn your computer on, if the screen shows up press delete to get into the BIOS and find the setting I am talking about. (If the screen shows up it will only work once then the setting will default itself so you have to change it the first time you boot after resetting CMOS)
