Make sure you connected the power to your video card if it needs it, and re seat it.

did you plug in the square 4 pin connector to the motherboard besides the main atx 20/24 pin power connector? if motherboard uses onboard video then does not use power connector to videocard.

Really? The 4pin should connect around the CPU.

post the make & model# of your computer or motherboard so we can see what you have because if have a p4 or amd equivalent that is about 2 years old or less then will have that connector?

will be printed in white on the circuit board not on the chips & says asus p4s533 or something like that as could be a gigabyte, ecs, msi or some other manufacturer's motherboard.

@pizat
That power supply has a 24 pin connector, you can bend 4 of the pins
on the plastic connector out of the way so it will fit on a 20 pin MOBO connector, are you sure you plugged in the right 20 pins?

It certainly matters if you try another power supply, for all you know that one could be faulty and not putting out enough power for the CPU.

OOPs, Yeah you did respond, I'll send you the specs on my computer when I get home and if you have time, just give me some basic steps on where to start. I read through the thread, still a little unsure excatly where to start.

Thanks

Why only the fan? I thought we established the problem was with the power supply?
