Hi

if this has been discussed before sorry but mysearches didnt pull anything.

I want to play mp3's from my laptop to a wireless speaker/boom box or maybe through a hi-fi set up

can anyone let me know what options i have?

anything u want to do wireless u need wireless player / if ur system(hi-fi)wireless ready
and is ur laptop ready with the tv tuner card!!??
if so possible

if not u need wireless streaming unit that can communicate from ur laptop to the streaming unit and ur streaming unit connects to ur hi-fi

thats what iam thinking buddy

let see if anyone comeup with better and faster solution so that we both can learn

a friend of mine bought a Parrot blue tooth boombox which set him back the best part of £150 plus the cost of a blue tooth dongle. i dont want to have to use a dongle in my laptop (had a bad experence with a wireless mouse having a dongle which broke!) plus i have a wireless network that surely should be able to be used for this purpose!

hoping someone may be able to suggest some ways of doing this!

cool since u have wireless network
all u need is player that communicates ur wireless network

like dlink mediaplayer

i have dlink dsm520 media player which does have hdmi for my future upgrades

it works fairly well
u need that kinda media player
so that u can play ur music wirlessly
not only music also video content too
