Hello AfterDawn! This is my first post in these forums. I'm glad to be here!
My question is concerning uTorrent. I know that BitTorrent bought out uTorrent, and BitTorrent is partnered with the MPAA and RIAA. I've only torrented one album and haven't seeded anything, but I'm not sure if it's safe to continue downloads. I know the programs will be heavily monitored now that this merger has occurred.
My other question is along the same line...would a program like Comodo, Sygate, or Norton's Ghost program protect your IP address and keep you safe?
Thanks everyone.

P.S. I'm terribly sorry if this is the wrong place for this post.
You really need a program like peer guardian. It isn't 100% foolproof, but a lot better than being wide open.
Then if you don't like the idea of using a piece of software belonging to the enemy ( I don't ) give azureus and it's excellent plugins a try.. safepeer does the same job as peerguardian, but as it's an application plugin not a system wide thing it seems to use less resources, and you don't end up blocking sites you want to see.
If that is too complicated to configure, and you are still paranoid you can always try to get a free shell account somewhere (most cost money, and are limited in what they allow.. torrents are usually out) and download to that machine, and grab your completed downloads over a secure connection later.. much too hard, and not really worth the effort for a few files.
