Hello-I'd like to split a large (1 hour) MP3 file into smaller ones, but I'd like to be able to determine where the split points are and how many there are. What's the best program for this? Are there any free ones that are good? Thanks!

This is what I like.It doesn't re-encode,but keeps the file in the original form without lowering quality. It is also free...

I must be doing something wrong. I made two attempts with "Slice" to split up a large MP3 file, using the "Slice into individual tracks" selection. I left the db level and duration in their default positions. I am working with a MP3 of a live recording, so maybe there are no quiet spots that fit the default criteria. Since there's no way to monitor this program in real time, it looks like a lot of time, trial, and error would be needed in order to achieve desirable results with it. That's a lot of time I don't have. I'd like to find an application that it a little more intuitive.
