ive been offered two different cards to choose from for my price range

x1950pro 7900gtx

please i would like your oppinion on which is best and why thanks people

Hmm, thats a hard decision. Are you talking about the 256mb version of the pro or the 512? Either way, I think I would go with the nvidia. Although it is pricey, it has more pipelines, and a higher memory and gpu clock.

For the record, you could get a 8800GTX for $20 more than the 7900, and its way better.

The 7900gtx costs about $470. For that price you can buy a 8800GTX which is superior. Or did you make a mistake and meant the 7900GT?

the x1950pro is 512mb 7900gtx is 512mb i can get both for same price each £110 its roughly double in dollars so e.g. $220


so from what you two have said the 7900gtx seems a bargain?

It's probably ebay or second hand, you can't buy 7900GTXs new any more. Note the 'out of stock' on the newegg page.
Given that choice, I'd go with the 7900GTX hands down.
