I'm trying to back up Evan Almighty and i have the latest version of DVD Fab Decrypter and it won't work, it keeps saying it can't read it possibly due to encryption.
Any help on this?

does that software work to backup DVD's, i can't get the dvd onto the hard drive to burn it, my usual routine is DVDFab Decrypter and then DVD shrink onto a dvd, but this won't work on Evan Almighty,
it says "Reading Error"

I did this movie with AnyDVD and Shrink with no problem.
Do you have the latest version of FabHDDvdDecrypter?

I'm mot bumping. That pad and pencil did not show up for editing.
What I meant was the 3210 version came out this week. There is a
thread about the changes it made. If you used that one and it
didn't work, you might try a previous version and see if it will work.

Not much protection wise on this one so you may have a bad press.
Check the back of the disc for any scratches, dirt, fingerprints etc. Clean it off with something non abrasive.
If you have another drive to rip from try that one - some are better then others a ripping these 'bad' spots.
Try DVD Decrypter to rip - no longer updated but a good ripper and should handle this one.
If all that fails then best bet would be to exchange it for a new one.

@rocker318
The program Convertxtodvd works both ways you can use it rip straight to your hard and direct to a blank media.But it converts you file to a Pal or a Ntsc or either or you have that choose in the options you can change the screen size to Widescreen or Fullscreen 16.9 or 4.3
..I use it alot on Torrents sites when..I download movies and convert them over..I like the program very well..and ..i think everybody should have it when it comes to Dvd processing..I work with alot of dvd program software.I have just about all of them..But my best is Clonedvd matched up with Anydvd working togerther. All in All u may have to invest in a new quality Burner like a lite-on alot people on here turned me onto good burners and good quality media to use and they was right..
Here a Sample below

@Binkie7
Your instructions was right on point the advise you gave was true it's seems well enough to follow thru with cause..I had alot of problems with my old sammy and you helped me thru..Thanks 4 that.Now the sammy is a paper weight..LOL

you should be able to do this movie with the latest version of dvdfab HD decrypter. If you can't I would follow Binkie's advice and go get another copy. I also think rip*4me could handle this one. ConvertX is not the best answer if you are trying to back up a dvd. It is a conversion tool: not designed for dvd backups.

Such an obvious place to start, and yet I overlooked it. Cleaned the disc (it was dirty) and the latest version of DVDFab HD Decrypter worked beautifully. It had given me a "copy protection" error, that's how I found this thread. Thanks binkie7
