I'm looking to be able to burn 3 discs at a time with no bottlenecking, so what would be the best way to accomplish this?
I've looked up possible options, add 2 more burners to my current computer setup (would require a ide to PCI card), duplicator card + 4 burners, ide to firewire/usb card + 3 burners. Also I'd like to have to option to add more burners.
As far as how I'd go about burning I'd mostly do single ISO to multiple burners simultaneously with the occasional straight DVD to DVD burn while maintaining unbridled speeds.
i use 2/3/4 burners simulataneously (and over USB2.0 too) using Nero's multiple recorder feature ie you can burn the same exact movie/data to multiple burners.
I've used my two burners that are in my Emachines -a BenQ 1655 & a Nec 3500 plus my older Nec 2500A that I converted to a external/Usb Drive to simultaneously burn 3 disc at once I have Roxio Easy CD & DVD creator 6 Platinum and it has the Simultaneous burn feature in the Disc copy Module of the program ! like Nero does ! I have'nt done it often but it apaers to work fairly well ! I used Ritek G-o5 media last time and the estimated speed according to the program was 4 X I would suggest also using the same type & brand of media in all your drives when doing this as well ! don't know if this helps but there you go ? Ciao!!!
for a while now i've been using 16x Benq DW1650's in my enclosures, and a couple of the enclosures just hold DVD-rom drives for ripping duties.
I only ever do up to 8x in my burners, i think that's where USB2.0 tops out, not sure, but don't do over 8x on internal burners anyway, no benefit IMHO.

yup. on one PC i have one internal burner and one burner in USB2.0 enclosure, also one dvd-rom drive in another enclosure. There's also another burner in another enclosure that i sometimes hook up to enable 3 simultaneous DVD burns, usually i just do 2 simultaneous DVD burns
