ok, i just got my pc before school started about 2 months ago. It was custom built and works great, but it came with 3gb of ram, and I am going to get 4gb. It is runnign the home premium version of windows vista. I asummed since it was 3gb of ram, that there would be one space left open, but all four were taken up, and when i looked closer i found that there were 2 x 1gb and 2 x 512mb of ram. which is great, because instead of buying just 1gb of ram, i have to buy 2 now. anyway, since i will be removing those 2 512mb ram, is there anything i need to do, or do i just turn off the computer and swap it out like a pci graphics card? just wondering, because I thought some of the start up data for the pc was stored on it.

ok, just wondering, because i unpluged my pc and just removed one of the ram chips (i think it was one of the 512mb ones) just to take a look at what the manufactuer was, and i put it right back in, tight and secure with the clamps back on, all while it was unpluged, and now, it will get stuck at the start up screen, where it says press f2 to enter setup, and tells me all about my memory and cpu. i then have to restart it a few times, and then it will still take it a few minutes to get out of that screen when it finally works. even when i clikc f2, it will display the same thing and get jammmed up in teh same screen, except the only diffrence is instead of saying "press f2 to enter setup" it says "entering setup..." and everythign is the exact same. but once it actually continues on pass this screen, it runs fine.
