I am trying to copy a dvd that I have already burnt and I continue to get this error message. Come to find out this is the only movie that is giving me this message. The log is below and I have tried to copy it both ways, burning on to the hard drive first and then a quick copy(not burning to hard drive). Can someone please help?

It can not read the disc.
It is not surprising if you burnt it the same way you are trying to burn the copy.

The rule is to burn at half the rated speed of the blank media (good media).

You have the bare minimum memory needed for Nero.
Do not run anything else while burning.
You might even think about turning off some services (XP has a lot of crap running).
Or add some memory.

CMC media is not very good and trying to burn at 16x.
Well it is not going to work well.
Slow to 4x or 8x.

Okay I tried using a different software to copy the dvd and I still get the same error message. I used the software called EasyClone DVD. I attempted to update my software and I believe it was unsuccessful so, I need to check into that again. Is there anything else that I can do to copy this DVD?

if you want the best Nero 7 version then:
7.10.1.0........

Save your serial # then uninstall Nero!
Use the cleaning tool: Nero7 Clean tool http://www.nero.com/enu/support-nero7-tools-utilities.html
do a registry clean up using this free cleaner: CCleaner:
http://www.ccleaner.com/download
then do a defrag and reboot!

now reinstall Nero 7.10.1.0: http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/

Use better media!~ Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim are the best around and don't burn too fast! half the rated speed of the disk is fine! 4x or 8x!

you are using too much memory ....at 512k that's the minimum of RAM! so no multi tasking, no internet, shut down all unnecessary programs running in the background, and even shut off your anti virus programs while burning!

The problem is not the software that is reading the disc.
The problem is the way that the disc was burnt or there is damage to the disc.

this sounds like it's crappy media and that's your problem! the disk that was recorded and now you can't copy it by product of crappy media and not how it was recorded...... it's either not able to read the disk and that's why I said, if you're having reading errors then clean the disk and see if this helps. but after cleaning the disk and you still have trouble trying to rip the disk to the hard drive then it's the media...... what once worked now doesn't because it's crappy media! this is a known problem when you use poor quality media! You can't re rip the DVD to the hard drive and it's hard to copy from it! You won't have this problem if you use Taiyo Yuden disks (made in Japan disks) or Verbatim!

a. Using poor quality discs
b. Burning way too fast
c. Insufficient memory (RAM)..recommended 512mb min

Yes the dvd does play fine in a dvd player.

I will change the type of media that I'm using to burn with also, I will slow down the speed as well. I need to upgrade to a newer Nero anyway so, I will do that as well. The original media that I have the dvd burned on is a Sony.

you also might upgrade your system resources a bit .Some extra hardware wouldnt go astray if you aRE UPGRADING YOUR NERO as some programs require you to have 'x' amount of resources to run them properly

The dvd that I'm burning to or the dvd that I'm burning from. I use Sony DVD+R typically for all my burning. Just recently I purchased Maxwell DVD+R. I am still having problems with the dvd drive reading the discs.
