There is an open wi-fi in my neighborhood. I purchased a cantenna to improve my reception and it has worked great. The problem is that I have 2 PCs in my home that I want to use and I want to keep the wiring down to a minimum.

Using the cantenna, can I have the router receive the signal and then rebroadcast this signal to my 2 PCs?

The problem with your question is, you actually think it's okay to swipe your neighbor's internet connection.

Any reason why you don't pay for your own internet connection?

Open as in for public use like a hot spot or a neighbor who hasn't secured their router?

Actually, with the cantenna I can pick up both the city downtown wi-fi and what I am guessing is one of my neighbors' via an unsecured router. (My neighbors' signal is the stronger of the two.)

I'll admit, I haven't had any reservations about using either of these open wi-fi signals. GrandpaBW, I get the impression that you don't approve. Am I "taking something away" from my neighbors by accessing the internet via their wi-fi?

I would think that my first post would answer any questions you have.

We won't help you steal your neighbors connection...use the weaker signal that is intended to be free. What you are wanting to do is illegal and if you are caught you can face fines and possibly jail time.
