No it would not have anything to do with the Filters....You probably have no audio because the audio in your AVI file is of a Format that is not supported by TMPGEnc...When dealing with Downloaded files you will often Not get any audio in the Encoded Mpeg file because TMPGEnc can not decode all audio formats...So to fix your Problem you will have to extract the audio from your AVI file and then use the extracted audio to author to DVD......Cheers
thanks minion, ive got a free trial with Cucusoft it only gives me 1min as a free trial but seems to work with that (sound and visual)i dont know how to extract just the audio from an AVI file, so have you tried Cucusoft? if yes how would you rate it, is it worth buying?
NO need to buy yet another program..
Use VirtualDub to extract the audio from your AVI file. Open the file, go to the "audio" menu, select compression, and make sure that "no compression" (PCM) is selected. Next, under the "file" menu, select "save WAV".
This will give you a basic, DVD compatable audio file that you can use directly in your DVD authoring. However, as the file will be rather big I would recommend that you convert it to either AC3 (via the BeSweet AC3 Machine) or to MP2 (by doing an audio only encode of the WAV file in TMPGEnc).
Hope this works for you...
First off, I'd like to say reading this topic has helped me make DVDs more than anything else out in the big blue world. An unlimited amount of thanks goes to everyone that knows what they're doing, and is kind enough to share their knowlege with the less-knowing ones of us. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Now, I'm using TMPGEnc to convert AVI to MPEG, and it's working just fine. The question I have is, how do I put a border around my movie so that a television dosen't cut off the edges of that movie? I can't find any options in TMPGEnc that seem to do it, and I refuse to use any other software. Any and all help is welcomed, and I thank you in advance.
Here is a novel idea......Don't bother with TMPGEnc....instead, use dvd burn by honestech, it encodes, authors, and burns for you.....by FAR the best program out for dvd burning. Also has other usefull utilities. And either way you go dvd burning is a long process.............lmao infact it's so simple a 2 y.o. could do it.............don't get me wrong TMPGEnc is a veery good program but the former I mentioned is just easier, and more simple to use.
Sory "All" Honestech Products Suck Ass, I should Know Because I own every One(And they are Collecting Dust)..The Mpeg encodeing is of the Lowest Quality and the encodeing Speed is quite slow compared to Profecinal encoders..Sure is is easy they Make to so a 2 year old can use it But it would also take a 2 year old to say that the Quality was any good..I"m sure the Burning Functions are Fine But the Important Part is High Quality and that is were Honestech products are Severely Lacking....My Moto is you either Do it the Best Possible way or don"t do it at all...Cheers
the encoding can be slow .........BUT youe can change the quality, poor quality is fast, good quality is slower, but youcan get almost perfect dvd quality if you put it on best.......and you don't need to deinterlace most of them .....if you do the quality WILL suck ............like anything you need to play with it to find what quality you like and what functions you need or want......I am new to this board, but I have had a pc since comadore 64 and I repair pc's for a living, I know about computers, TMPGEnc is good, but quality is no better than honestech! And with TMPGEnc you have to get to technical......Anyway it's just my opinion......like with any program some people hate it some people love it.....
