nero 8 and dvd shrink

hi guys, i recently installed nero 8 and had to reinstall dvd shrink to get the option to burn with nero to show up, and it all went fine. but then the second time i tried to backup a dvd, the option was gone again. so i quickly reinstalled and it came back. now, the third time, its gone again. i really dont want to be reinstalling everytime that i use it to get it to work nicely with nero, so any ideas on what i can to to fix it? running vista home premium. thank you in advance, any help is greatly appreciated, tristan.

hey thanks, yeah i figured id just use imgburn. i was just wondering if i could fix it with nero though.

lol - yeah 5:30 a.m. is a bit early for me :)
This is a different problem then the one that's been reported. Using Nero 8 to autoburn w/ Shrink somehow screws up the file structure. Some players won't play the disc or in my case the movie either started at the credits or the last 25 mins.
Now if you take those same files that Shrink saved to your hard drive and burn them w/ Express or Burning Rom - all is good - just the autoburn screws things up.
Tristan86 - have you checked those discs that were autoburned w/ Nero?
Do they play okay?

yeah ive watched most of them and theyve been fine. but yeah my problem with nero is not being able to autoburn. but its all good, if theres no fix or whatever i can use other methods. thanks :)

Hmmm if you haven't tried this already - I'd try doing a clean install of Nero - might help. Uninstall Nero using the clean tool.
I have the opposite problem (running XP) does autoburn but the disc is worthless since the file structure is somehow screwed up :).
Another option is use Recode instead of Shrink. imho faster and does a little better job.

hey sorry i didnt reply earlier, ive been away. i havent used recode before, ill give it a go. does it autobrn with nero?

Recode is another app in Nero....Nero Recode.

lol oops. im a little out of it at the moment, just drove 1600km in the past 24 hours. ill get some sleep and have a go.
