when i download any torrents it maxes out at 120kbs, is there any way to make that speed any higher (like including paying my ISP if that is even possible or if its even related to them at all) also I'm currently downloading all the south park episodes (which takes a long long time) sometime its going strong at 120kbs, and other times it will go as low as 20kbs, and i was wondering if this is normal, like i know that it will move around a few kbs but 100 i think thats a bit much, any suggestions?

thanks in advance
Peace

ok well i can see no one helped so i called bell and they said they gotta do some profile update,2 days go by and my speed was bumped up to 430kbs max, it was great, but for some reason now with utorrent it maxes out at about 28kbs, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED, when i dl something directly form a website i still get about 350-400kbs. But for some reason utorrent screwed up. any ideas? also i recently installed norton 360 and it worked great until a I did a full system scan last night and utorrent totally screwed up.

thanks in advance,
Peace

What happened is that Bell probably focused their attention on you, they're well known for throttling torrents: http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad_ISPs#Canada To KHaO, try Protocol Encryption: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/395674 a port over 10,000 that isn't the default, if you use a router, port forward it and it may need a static address as well.

I ran into the same problems with utorrent. I have gone through everything to try to speed it up like alot of other people have. I recently found out that some ISPs are choking torrent speeds. I use port 1720 or 1740 and it has done wonders I have seen speeds as high as 600 kB/s instead of my usual 60-80. This might not work for everyone and it probably depends on you ISP, I'm in Canada and use rogers.

ok i reinstalled, and did some of the stuff with the net.ip_outgoing and shit, i also turned of the UPnP port mapping, and now my speed doubled to 60 max, good, but thats still nothing compared to my original 400! If i call Bell Canada and ask if they are slowing down my torrent downloads can i get in trouble?

Thanks In Advance
Peace

well i tried playing with some stuff on utorrent, and you wont beleive it, right now im getting 220kbs, still not my original 430kbs but right now i am happy, i havent called my ISP yet because the offices are closed but even if they cant help me than i will still be getting 220kbs! what i did was change my port number to the highest port possible (65535) and instantly my speed started to rise, then i went to Options> Preferences> Connection> Proxy settings, i changed my proxy server to HTTP and i made the port my default port (65535), and i dont know if any of the proxy stuff helped but my speed was still rising! so if anyone knows another thing to help get my speed back up to its original 430kbs, then that would be very much appreciated, or if someone needs help doing what i did the feel free to ask.

Thanks In Advance
Peace
