I got nero7 trial with the purchase of my liton lightscribe burner and it worked great. I burned like 10 backups of my movies just fine. I decided to buy nero8 then and since then it has been a big pain and never worked. First, the recode just stopped when compiling volume. So i stopped burn to disk right away and it didn't do that anymore. Now when it gets to formatting disk i get an error and it doesn't work. Im really disappointed with nero right now. They don't help and I have got really good ideas from this site. Can someone please help me. Is there a better way to burn them on nero8 or is recode the only way. Thanks

I haven't tried that yet but I am going to. I did download DVD shrink like someone else had posted and it gave me the same message of an error formatting. It's a brand new burner so it shouldn't be that should it?

I have a liteon Lightscribe dvd multi buner. It's an external drive. It worked fine before with the same DVD's. I am using DVD+R lightscribe DVD's

I have a LiteON 20x External DVD
The DVD's I use are Verbatim 16X Lightscribe DVD's
I tried to download the nero version that was recommended above but i guess since my serial number is for nero 8 it didn't work. Any more help would be appreciated. Thanks

what are you trying to do? are you trying to make a LightScribe cover or burn a DVD? what movie are you trying to do or are you using Nero Vission or Recode..... you can always try Shrink and ConvertXToDVd and see if that works for you.

I just got it and so I am making backups of some of my DVD's just to get used to it. I uesdnyDVD to decrypt just as I always have. It worked right away and I could burn DVD's and make the lightscribe labels. It just recently said formatting error. I have used the clean tool like 4 times and redownloaded it and am still getting error messages when formatting.

when you say...... formatting...... are you formatting an RW disk? why don't you post a Nero log so we can see what's going on.

wish you could burn with Nero 7.10.1.0 instead of Nero's trial offer of version 7! Your RW disks should be burned at 4x not 8x! slow the speed down. you are at the minimum of RAM.... either increase your RAM .......Memory in use : 65%.... do not multi task, shut off all unnecessary programs running in the background, and no internet while you are burning!

I guess your drive isn't being recognized to write or is busy and can't access it! Even though it shows that it's there..... seems that it's not ready to write. Sometimes you need to reboot and then check out to see if it's being recognized in My Computer..... then try again. sounds like a problem with your USB2.0 hookup.

I tried burning in recode at 4x and had the same fail error. I tried using other burn software but it didn't work. I am using an inspiron 5100 so it is an older computer. If it is the USB port that is causing the error what can i do. It worked before and all of a sudden it won't work at all. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and defragmented it and ran the ccleaner. I don't know what's going on. I have run it with all other programs closed also.

I have tried using DVD shrink and Imgburn but I don't know if I am doing it right. I can't get it to burn only the main movie and the file is too big to burn the whole thing. I am seeing if I can get it to work. The ram problem was from programs running and I took care of that. Also when I ripped the dvd's to my programs it took up a ton of room. I was using all but 11% of my space from having three movies on my computer. Is their any way to shrink the file down or just download the main movie?

The ripit4me site doesn't work either. I have been using AnyDVD lately with nero. I will try your new one though and see how that turns out. let me know if I need to do anything special.
