PAL dvd to ntsc audio problems

hello:....trying to convert PAL dvd to ntsc and write to a dvd disc....1st used Clonedvd to convert but kept all the files that Clonedvd created.....took these files and used ConvertxtoDvd but noticed there were no audio files to convert.....converted anyway and of course there was no sound when playing the converted DVD.....tried DvdSanta and the program said there WERE audio files and they were converting but when i wrote to a dvd disc and played in a USA dvd player there again was no audio......went back to ConvertxtoDvd and put the Russian dvd in the computer and converted it using Convertxdvd and it showed audio files being converted .....
wrote to a dvd disc but again no audio......not sure what to do next.....thanks for any help

if the audio files are DTS and you don't have a DTS able DVD player then it's not going to play the audio channel. Also, try hitting the audio channel button oh your DVD player..... sometimes the main audio channel is not the correct channel and the secondary audio channel is the main channel, so switching audio channels on the DVD player might bring the auido on!
